Former police detective and lecturer in criminology and policing, Ian Stainton tells reporter Andy Watson it could take some time to ascertain where or who the human remains found along the Sunderland coastline have come from.

It's the fourth time in two months suspected human remains have been found on the Wearside coast.

Police were called to Seaburn and Roker Beaches during February and March.

Northumbria Police confirmed suspected human remains were found on the Fish Quay, in Hendon this month.
