One Battle After Another for Cinema? Talking Movies looks back at the 2025 Year in Film
The credits are rolling on film in 2025, and it's a year when the Hollywood box office again failed to reach pre-Covid levels of cinema going. Even celebrity-led movies often failed to make an impact, including the best-reviewed film of the year and Oscar favourite, One Battle After Another.
The year also highlighted the importance of family-aimed films as well as international movies, with a Chinese animation, Ne Zha 2, making global box office profits of more than two billion dollars.
