Iraqi novelist Sinan Antoon on war, memory and exile
Sinan Antoon is an Iraqi poet and writer, born and raised in Baghdad. He has published two collections of poetry and five novels. His latest novel 'Notes from a Lost Country' follows the lives of two Iraqi men whose lives have been shaped by conflict and exile. In a tale that is all too familiar to people around the world - the book explores what refugees and immigrants really carry with them across oceans and borders - and whether it is ever possible to leave your homeland behind. He spoke to Weekend's Julian Worricker about the characters in his book.
