There are hopes that a deal signed by Ukraine, Russia, Turkey and the UN to allow the export of Ukrainian grains will ease food shortages in Africa. Ukraine is a major grain producer, but Russia鈥檚 invasion disrupted exports, leading to food price rises and shortages in many countries in Africa.
Plus, Mali鈥檚 ruling junta says its forces have repelled an attack on a military base outside Bamako, carried out by an al Qaeda-linked group.
