Humanitarian crisis in South Sudan ‘intolerable’

The UN Commission on Human Rights in South Sudan says the level of suffering for millions of civilians is “intolerable.”

The UN Commission on Human Rights has called for international action to end the level of suffering for millions of civilians in South Sudan. A member of the Commission tells us the humanitarian cost of the conflict in South Sudan has been “horrendously heavy”.

Nigerian security forces have been deployed to try to rescue people – including hospital staff and patients - abducted by gunmen from a hospital in the central state of Niger.

And it is the centenary year of one of the oldest photography studios in Ghana. We hear from the current owner of Deo Gratias Photo Studio on her plans to digitalise and log thousands of images.
