Ghana auditors reveal violations in use of Covid-19 funds

An investigation on Covid-19 funding in Ghana, where there were fewer than 2,000 covid-related deaths, found $1bn was spent on the pandemic.

Auditors in Ghana have called out state officials for misappropriating or mismanaging funds dedicated to fighting the Covid-19 pandemic.

As a two-day conference in Niger on the Lake Chad basin comes to an end, the International Rescue Committee is calling on global donors not to forget the dire crisis that millions are facing in the region, due to climate change, violence and displacement.

And Zambia's Finance Minister Situmbeko Musokotwane reflects on his meeting with his US counterpart, Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen.
