Naira protests breakout in Southern Nigeria
Protests have broken out in several cities in Southern Nigeria over a monetary crisis.
Protests have broken out in several cities across southern Nigeria following the crisis stoked by the decision of the government to redesign of the currency, the Naira. There are reports that angry customers in Delta and Edo State attacked commercial banks, setting two on fire.
A Kenyan senator has defended her decision to walk into parliament with a period stain on her trousers on Tuesday. Gloria Orwoba was ordered to leave the chamber by the speaker, who said she needed to go and change her clothes.
And tensions are continuing to build in Ethiopia between the authorities and the Orthodox Tewahado Church. It began earlier this month after a breakaway group of clergy in the country鈥檚 Oromia region appointed bishops and the main church鈥檚 highest body accused authorities of supporting the group.
