Protests have broken out and two banks have been set on fire in Southern Nigeria amid a currency crisis. People have struggled to get hold of banknotes following a government decision to redesign the Naira.
The war in northern Ethiopia has been one of the world's deadliest conflicts in recent years. However, human rights violations are reported to be continuing, with women being sexually assaulted in the region even after a peace deal between the government and Tigrayan forces was signed last November.
Mali has unveiled a new fleet of Turkish drones which will be based in the north-eastern region of Gao. The Malian authorities have been battling jihadist militant groups in the area for years and hope the addition of more Turkish technology will help to tip the balance in their favour.
