Migrant boat stranded for two days, heads to Italy
A vessel carrying 400 people, that departed from Libya, ran into distress between Greece and Malta.
Maltese authorities allow a nearby merchant ship to supply fuel to a stranded boat with 400 people on board, but orders it not to conduct a rescue operation. A member of the Alarm Phone group which picked up the boat鈥檚 distress call, says some authorities are trying to avoid their responsibility to help stricken vessels.
