Sudan clashes continue despite talk of an Eid ceasefire
Violence has escalated in Khartoum, despite hopes for a ceasefire at the end of the Muslim holy month of Ramadan.
Sporadic fighting is continuing in the Sudanese capital, Khartoum, despite the paramilitary Rapid Support Forces (RSF) saying they were prepared to respect a three-day ceasefire with the army to coincide with the Muslim holiday of Eid.
A Ugandan student stranded at a university in Khartoum, describes the sombre mood as he and others take part in Eid prayers.
And the UN Refugee Agency (UNHCR) estimates that as many as 20,000 people have fled the conflict in Sudan's Darfur region to seek refuge in neighbouring Chad.
