Another chance to hear Friday's Prom, with a programme that concentrates on colour, both orchestral and visual, and includes the first Proms premiere of 2008, by Simon Holt, recently appointed 'Composer in Association' with the 麻豆社 National Orchestra of Wales. There is also Debussy's Nocturnes, his impressionist response to paintings by Whistler, portraying sky, sea and dazzling festivities, as well as Mussorgsky's Pictures at an Exhibition, with orchestrations by Ravel.
