The 2007 celebrations included Discovering Tchaikovsky: televised music workshop programmes, made in association with The Open University. Â鶹Éç TV featured performances of some of the great Tchaikovsky ballets and operas, and theÌýevent reachedÌýits climax on Â鶹Éç Radio 3 in February as the station continued its distinctive series of composer-focussed seasons. Tchaikovsky shared theÌýairwaves with Igor Stravinsky in a jointÌýcelebration: listeners were able to hear all of their works in an exclusive week of broadcasts.

This was brought to a spectacular close on 16 February 2007 with a live broadcast of the 1812 Overture performed by the Â鶹Éç Concert Orchestra at London’s Imperial War Museum.
