 John Tavener Tavener - The Protecting VeilSunday 1 June 2008 17:00-18:30 (Radio 3) Charles Hazlewood and Matthew Barley are joined by the Â鶹Éç Philharmonic and cellist Josephine Knight to explore John Tavener's seminal work The Protecting Veil, a piece which Tavener describes as trying to 'capture some of the almost cosmic power of the Mother of God'. The programme also looks at a Â鶹Éç Philharmonic learning project focusing on The Protecting Veil, which was run alongside Discovering Music at the University of Salford.
