This evening Night Waves is devoted to the playwright, novelist and diarist Simon Gray. He first came to prominence in the Seventies with plays such as Butley and Otherwise Engaged but more recently he鈥檚 established himself as a brilliantly witty and affecting writer of non fiction. His last volume, The Smoking Diaries, led some to describe him as鈥 the supreme poet of life鈥檚 little vexations鈥 and if you want to praise him for his wit you鈥檒l have to join a queue. This evening he鈥檒l be reading from his forthcoming book, The Year of the Jouncer and talking to Philip Dodd about his writing and the life from which its been quarried鈥o why not join the two of them for an extended Night Waves inetrview here on 麻豆社 Radio three at nine thirty.
