IQ-Bot

1. Connecting Motors and Batteries to the IQ Controller Board
Before you begin programming the IQ controller board, you must connect the two power supplies and the two motors to the IQ Board. IQ-bot has two motors, one left and one right, so that it can be steered. The motors are connected to the board via the screw terminals marked 'output 2' and 'output 3' (output 1 is not used in this example.)

Connect each wire to the IQ board. The wires are exactly identical but are different colours to help make the building assignment a bit easier to follow. The 4 x AA battery supply on right powers the IQ controller board while the 2 x AA battery box on the left provides power to the motors.

The other end of each wire is secured to the terminal on the motor using a plastic sleeve. Once you have connected both battery packs and both motors to the IQ controller board your robot will be activated. Go to next lesson on 'Motor Direction' to learn about how to correctly wire-up your robot. IQ-Bot Robot Build Lesson 1
