The day after a flyover collapsed in India

Newsday

Available for over a year

Hundreds of rescue workers, led by soldiers, engineers and medics, have worked through the night in the Indian city of Kolkata (Calcutta) after a flyover collapsed, killing more than 20 people and injuring nearly a hundred more. A 100-metre long stretch of the road collapsed - killing not just motorists but also people underneath: the road was in a densely populated neighbourhood, with narrow lanes, shops and houses below. The Â鶹Éç's Rahul Tandon updated us from the scene. (Pic: A general view of the under-construction flyover that collapsed in Kolkata, India. Credit: Reuters)
