Can urine be used to power your electricity?

Focus on Africa

Available for over a year

What do you need to make electricity? You might be thinking coal, oil, wind, solar power, or water - but did you know that you could add urine to that list? They've just been given funding to trial the technology for large-scale use in the developing world. The Â鶹Éç Africa's Paul Bakibinga spoke to the director of the institute responsible for the latest research, the Bristol BioEnergy Centre, Professor Ioannis Ieropoulos
