An English artist has collected over 100 messages in bottles from UK shorelines over the past five years. 5 live spoke to Nicola White, who started collecting them after her dog found one washed up while they were out for a walk. Since then, she has been trying to contact whoever sent the messages. She managed to get in touch with a boy called Jack who had written a message in a bottle expressing a wish to be ‘a ‘Dino Thunder’ Power Ranger”. Nicola sent Jack the Power Rangers costume he had wished for. She told us: “I have found people’s wishes, even New Year’s resolutions, declarations of love.” "Throwing a wish in the river as a child and getting it is quite magical," she added.
