2017 Caine Prize winner for African Writing

Bushra al-Fadil, a Sudanese poet and writer, took home the much coveted prize for the 2017 Caine Prize for African Writing for his evocative book; "The Story of the Girl Whose Birds Flew Away". Bushra is the second Sudanese to win the £10,000 prize money which he'll share with Max Shmooker who translated the story which was originally in Arabic.
