2017 Caine Prize winner for African Writing
Bushra al-Fadil, a Sudanese poet and writer, took home the much coveted prize for the 2017 Caine Prize for African Writing for his evocative book; "The Story of the Girl Whose Birds Flew Away".
Bushra is the second Sudanese to win the 拢10,000 prize money which he'll share with Max Shmooker who translated the story which was originally in Arabic.
