Grammy award-winning Senegalese musician, Youssou N’Dour returns after a long hiatus from the performance circuit with a new album. He spent a stint actively dabbling in politics, including an attempt at becoming president of his country. Though he didn't make it, he was appointed the minister for culture and tourism. He spoke to Focus On Africa's Veronique Edwards about why he first decided to go into politics, and what inspired his new music. (Image: Youssou N’Dour in the Â鶹Éç Focus on Africa Studio.
