Youssou N鈥橠our on politics, culture and music
Grammy award-winning Senegalese musician, Youssou N鈥橠our returns after a long hiatus from the performance circuit with a new album.
He spent a stint actively dabbling in politics, including an attempt at becoming president of his country. Though he didn't make it, he was appointed the minister for culture and tourism.
He spoke to Focus On Africa's Veronique Edwards about why he first decided to go into politics, and what inspired his new music.
