Abiola Onabule, Designer-in-Residence at London's Design Museum

Focus on Africa

Available for over a year

The fashion world has been turned upside down by Covid-19, with significant fashion houses going bankrupt. But a Nigerian woman who is currently Designer-in-Residence at the Design Museum in London is bringing a new focus to African dyeing and weaving techniques. The project runs for a year and will see African womenswear designs on display for the first time at this iconic London showroom. Abiola Onabule tells Focus on Africa about how she discovered her family connection to Indigo dyeing. (Photo: Abiola Onabule; Credit: Jessica Eliza Ross)
