Sudan: Civilian and military supporters hold rival protests

Focus on Africa

Available for over a year

Supporters of the civilian and military factions of Sudan’s transitional government have been holding rival protests in the capital Khartoum on Thursday. Tensions between the two groups, who have shared power since Omar al-Bashir was deposed in 2019, have grown in recent weeks. The journalist Mohamed Alamin has been at a pro-civilian rule protest, and told Focus on Africa’s Audrey Brown what’s been happening.
