Delegations from the Ethiopian government and the Tigrayan People’s Liberation Front (TPLF) have arrived in South Africa to begin negotiations aimed at bringing an end to the two-year civil war. Meanwhile, fighting is continuing in Tigray, and the global human rights organisation, Amnesty International, has called on both sides of the conflict to protect civilians.
