Malawi's Health Minister Khumbize Kandodo Chiponda has described cyclone Freddy as "the most devastating ever" in the nation's recent history, and "totally unexpected". So far the cyclone has claimed at least 225 in severe flooding and mudslides, and tens of thousands of people have lost their homes.
