Leicester welcomes in the 'Year of the Dragon'

Available for over a year

Chinese New Year celebrations are taking place across Leicester this weekend. The Lunar New Year celebrations welcome in the 'Year of the Dragon' - the only mythical creature among the zodiac animals. Its image has been built through elements of other animals, such as having the body of a snake and the scales of a fish. The grand finale of the Leicester celebrations is in Town Hall Square on Saturday night, featuring a spectacular firework display. There'll also be performances of traditional Lion Dancing from Leicester-based dance and martial art troop ITSWA. Ben and Derek from the group gave a demonstration to Â鶹Éç Leicester's Chance Litchfield.
