Roberto
is a familiar voice on Â鶹Éç Three Counties Radio, where he hosts
the Italian programme, Mondo Italiano.
He
and his guests on this programme slip quite naturally between English
and Italian, but in a way that can be understood and enjoyed by
those who speak no Italian at all.
Indeed,
Michele Arpaia, one of the grandees of the local Italian community,
finds he canÂ’t help but change language half way through his
sentences, something that Roberto doesnÂ’t mind at all!
The
programme explores the work of the Anglo-Italian Association, which
helps second and third-generation Italians understand and savour
the depth of their heritage and culture.
