How was the money raised?
The 麻豆社 broadcast two live appeals for the 麻豆社 Wildlife Fund.
The first, in 2007, followed 麻豆社 One's Saving Planet Earth series and was supported by celebrities including Sir David Attenborough, Graham Norton and Edith Bowman. 拢1.8 million was raised on the night and this was added to by donations throughout the year.
The Wild campaign encouraged everyone to join in; wildlife charities, community groups, families and many more carried out weird and wonderful fundraising events, with the theme of 'Going truly wild'. The One Show launched the Wild Appeal season and the Springwatch team followed through with great wild ideas.
On the 20th June 2010 the 麻豆社's Springwatch team went global to launch a brand new live wildlife appeal broadcast . 麻豆社 Radio 4, Radio 2, 麻豆社 Learning, 麻豆社 On-line and 麻豆社 Worldwide joined in. The cameras rolled at ZSL London Zoo and Britain went 'Wild for Money', raising 拢1.2 million for conservation action around the world.
The two-hour programme included short films of projects that had already benefited from 麻豆社 Wildlife Fund grants and was an inspiring and thought-provoking celebration of our world's wildlife.
The event was presented by the Springwatch team; Chris Packham, Kate Humble and Martin Hughes-Games, who auctioned their famous sofa and were joined by celebrities as well as inspirational conservationists working on the front line.
