  • New opportunity: documentaries for Âé¶¹Éç YouTube deepwatch channel

    We’re commissioning 20 standalone documentaries for our new YouTube documentary channel deepwatch, aimed at engaging 16–24 year-olds across the UK. Each film will be a minimum of 25 minutes long and we’re inviting production companies based in Northern Ireland, Scotland, Wales or the English regions to pitch their ideas now. Deadline for ideas: 7 May
  • Saturday Kitchen to be put out to competitive tender

    We’re putting the production of our weekend food show Saturday Kitchen out for competition. The full invitation to tender including eligibility criteria will be published in the coming weeks.
  • Crimewatch Live and TV coverage of religious events to be put out to competition

    We’re putting the production of Âé¶¹Éç One series Crimewatch Live out for competition, as well as a range of religious events including Easter Service Live, Urbi Et Orbi: The Pope's message from the Vatican, Carols from Kings, Midnight Mass Live, Christmas Morning Live and The Archbishop of Canterbury’s New Year’s Day message.
  • The Âé¶¹Éç Comedy Collective - open for applications

    Comedy bursary scheme offering emerging writers, producers, directors and editors paid shadowing opportunities on Âé¶¹Éç comedy productions, production mentors and £5k grants to help develop new material. Previous winners have received script commissions, produced successful TV and radio shows and won BAFTAs. Deadline for applications: 6 May
  • New commissioning brief: Children's digital-first commissioning

    The Âé¶¹Éç Children’s digital-first commissioning team are looking for ideas tailored specifically for platforms such as YouTube. Find out what they’re looking for and how to send them your ideas.
  • As part of the Âé¶¹Éç’s commitment to supporting the grassroots of the creative industries in all four nations, we are announcing the 40 independent production companies that will receive support from the Small Indie Fund and the Radio & Music Indie Development Fund.

    Ed Havard has been confirmed as the Director of Entertainment and Fiona Campbell as the Director of Factual following changes to the division’s senior leadership team to deliver even greater focus and accelerate the Âé¶¹Éç’s strategic priorities. Both will start their new roles in the Spring.

    Opportunity to help develop and produce a variety of formats for the new YouTube Perspectives channel (w/t) focused on showcasing perspectives and encouraging dialogue and debate for 16-24 year-olds. Deadline: 15 February
  • Commissioning opportunity: The One Show VTs from North East based producers

    We're seeking two suppliers with an existing substantive base in the North East to deliver three VTs each for Âé¶¹Éç One’s The One Show, for inclusion on an ad hoc basis. Ideas must have broad appeal and engage a wide range of audience demographics and age groups. Deadline for submissions: 3 March
  • The strategic accelerator programme for independent production companies is now open for applications. The reimagined programme is designed to strengthen the future of TV business in the UK and is aimed at established companies reassessing their content strategy, revenue mix and operating models. Deadline: 13 March 2026
  • Commissioning opportunity: new comedy entertainment format for Âé¶¹Éç iPlayer and Âé¶¹Éç Two

    Âé¶¹Éç Entertainment Commissioning is offering an exciting opportunity to redefine comedy entertainment for Âé¶¹Éç iPlayer and Âé¶¹Éç Two post-watershed. We’re looking for a brand new and original format as a series of 10 x 30minute episodes that could be stripped across two weeks. Deadline for ideas: 27 February 2026
  • New opportunity: Race Across the World visualised podcast

    We’re looking for a new visualised podcast with broad appeal to build on the success of the popular Âé¶¹Éç series Race Across the World that will amplify the brand across Âé¶¹Éç Sounds and Âé¶¹Éç iPlayer. The format should be inspired by the beloved Âé¶¹Éç programme, encompassing the brand values and tone of the series but also elevating the experience to new heights. Deadline: 20 January
  • Âé¶¹Éç to increase spend on content representing nations as it strengthens TV commissioning across the UK

    The increased investment, from within existing budgets, will ensure more high-impact, quality programmes that tell authentic, homegrown stories from the devolved Nations to UK-wide audiences
  • Year-long development programme accelerating the careers of unscripted TV creative leaders in Scotland and Northern Ireland. Candidates receive paid production placements, industry mentors and training alongside exclusive access to broadcast commissioners. Applications are now open via the TRC website. Deadline: 18 December
  • Made in Wales: new development opportunity for a factual entertainment series that celebrates Welsh creativity

    Âé¶¹Éç Wales, Âé¶¹Éç Network, and Creative Wales are joining forces to co-fund the development of a major new factual entertainment series from production companies with a substantive base in Wales. Up to four companies will be selected for a paid development opportunity, with the ambition to commission a series in 2026. Deadline: 19 December
  • Apply now: company development funds for TV, radio and digital producers

    Three company development funds have launched across TV, radio and digital, supporting talented independent production companies to develop their ideas and businesses with targeted investment and commissioning mentors. Deadline: 22 December
  • The career-enhancing development programme for ambitious executives based in the Nations and English regions is back. As well as gaining exclusive access to leading broadcasters and commissioners, delegates will receive training on a variety of topics such as pitching, personal branding and persuasion and negotiation skills. Deadline: 25 November
  • Âé¶¹Éç and North East Screen Digital Accelerator opportunity

    The Âé¶¹Éç and North East Screen Digital Accelerator is a nine-month programme designed to support TV production companies and digital production studios based in the North East to strengthen their digital capability, test new formats and build commercially sustainable content brands. Deadline: 21 November 2025
  • Indie training programme SuperSizing launches to find exciting new entertainment formats in Scotland

    The Âé¶¹Éç, Screen Scotland and leading broadcast and digital training provider TRC, have come together in partnership with the ambition of finding the next exciting entertainment format to capture imaginations and get audiences talking. Supersizing Entertainment Formats will be open to independent production companies based in Scotland. Deadline to apply: 5 November 2025
  • Opportunity to produce the Âé¶¹Éç's TV coverage of cricket across 2026 - 2028

    Invitation to tender published for the the contract to produce the Âé¶¹Éç’s TV coverage of cricket, encompassing the international highlights of England home matches plus live coverage of the Hundred tournaments between 2026 and 2028. Deadline for initial submissions: 26 November 2025
  • Audio and visual podcast opportunities announced for Âé¶¹Éç Sounds

    New Âé¶¹Éç Sounds commissioning round to grow the slate of podcasts targeting a new generation of listeners through headline-grabbing and talkable content. Deadline for ideas: 11 December
  • New opportunity for Âé¶¹Éç Sport digital video services

    We’re offering a supplier the chance to develop and deliver a new strategy for digital video content on Âé¶¹Éç Sport’s social platforms. As well as refreshing our overall approach, they will also produce original content. Deadline for initial submissions: 21 November 2025
  • Invitation to pitch Our Lives documentaries from suppliers based in the English regions

    We'd like to commission three standalone 30-minute documentary singles from suppliers based in the English regions for Âé¶¹Éç One’s Our Lives. Deadline for ideas: 14 November 2025
  • Âé¶¹Éç Commissioning report 2024/25 highlights a year of homegrown storytelling

    The Âé¶¹Éç invested £1.6 billion in original TV content, and commissioned over 500 production companies, significantly growing TV and Radio spend in the Nations and English regions
