Advent Joy

Laura Wright explores the meaning of joy in the Advent season and joins Christians in Bedford for an impromptu carol singalong in the town’s shopping centre.

In this third episode marking the traditional themes of Advent, Laura Wright visits Bedford to celebrate joy. She asks what it means to Christians and finds out how we can all spread a little joy, especially in the lead-up to Christmas.

Laura meets a group of Christians who for decades have made it their mission to bring joy to the streets of Bedford each Christmas. She discovers how they spread the message of the Bible through song and by bringing together as many churches as possible in the town.

We also hear from theologian Krish Kandiah in the third instalment of his conversation with Sean Fletcher exploring the key messages of each Sunday in Advent. He explains what the Bible tells us about joy and the role it plays in the Christmas story.

Finally, Laura takes part in a very special surprise singalong for the unsuspecting shoppers of Bedford. And a group of churchgoers attempt a flash mob full of festive cheer to spread some Advent joy.
