Pallister: Cantona almost quit Man Utd after kung-fu kick
The former Manchester United defender Gary Pallister says Eric Cantona was close to quitting the club after receiving an nine month ban for attacking a fan during a game against Crystal Palace in 1995, with manager Sir Alex Ferguson having to persuade the Frenchman not to leave.
Cantona was banned for kicking the fan during a match at Selhurst Park on 25 January 1995.
