Claire Lomas - who is paralysed from the chest down - is taking on the Great North run, thanks to the help of a bionic suit to help her walk.

The distance has taken a total of five days and requires Claire to tilt her pelvis for every step to coordinate the movements with the suit. She said: 鈥淚t鈥檚 not only physically hard, but it is mentally hard to concentrate and get the timing absolutely right鈥�

She also made a special announcement during the challenge - that she has done it while being 16 weeks pregnant.

A weary Claire added: 鈥淚t鈥檚 a full day to do a few miles, and I鈥檝e had a few injuries on the way. I鈥檒l be so pleased to not do much next week, I鈥檓 very excited!鈥�
