Ahead of International Women鈥檚 Day, ActionAid has partnered exclusively with women photographers to shine a spotlight on their incredible talent and share a different perspective.

The photographs celebrate women who are breaking barriers. One featured artist, Esther Ruth Mbabazi, is an award-winning Ugandan photographer who uses storytelling and photojournalism to address issues in her society that are often overlooked.

She shared the thinking behind her creative process with the Focus on Africa team in London.
