Covid-19 in Tunisia: the situation is 'critical'
On Thursday, the Tunisian government announced a set of measures to curb the recent spread of Covid-19. A huge surge in infections over the past month has seen cases increase by more than 1,000 per day. New restrictions measures include closing schools for 12 days and a ban on inter-city travel, while public gatherings will be limited to a maximum of four people.The nationwide weekday curfew will also be extended, and restaurants and cafes will have to close at 4pm. For more details about the situation in the country, Focus on Africa鈥檚 Nour Abida has been speaking to Hechmi Louzir, the director general of the Pasteur Institute of Tunis and spokesperson for the scientific committee to fight against Covid-19.
