Hundreds of thousands of South Sudanese displaced by heavy floods
More than 600,000 people have been affected by widespread flooding in South Sudan since May, says the United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA). Many have been forced to abandon their homes and farms to seek safety and shelter elsewhere.
Richard Ruati, communication officer with Unicef, is currently in Bor, a main town in South Sudan's Jonglei state. He told Focus on Africa's Bola Mosuro everything is submerged, putting people's health and livelihoods at risk.
