Shell barred from South Africa oil exploration project
Sinegugu Zukulu from SWC Sustaining the Wild Coast speaks to Focus on Africa鈥檚 Audrey Brown, after a court in South Africa ruled that Shell can鈥檛 explore for oil and gas in the area. The oil company had been granted a permit to carry out an oceanic seismic survey off South Africa鈥檚 Indian Ocean coast in 2014, but environmental campaigners warned it would damage marine life in the area. Shell says it respects the court鈥檚 decision and is reviewing its next steps.
