Barbourne residents evacuated
The apartment block on Northwick Avenue was cleared in out of all residents on 4 June 2025 due to fire safety concerns about the building's cladding.
Barbourne Works was ordered to be evacuated by Hereford & Worcester Fire and Rescue Service, with people who live there facing ongoing questions about when they'll be able to return home.
FirstPort, the building's managing agent, have blamed 'historical building defects' relating to when Barbourne Court was converted into flats 20 years ago. In a statement, they told the 麻豆社: 'This action was taken with residents' safety as the highest priority, and we are committed to working with all parties to provide ongoing support and regular updates as we address the issues raised. We are also exploring longer-term arrangements and available options should they become necessary.'
Niamh Gillan, Neil Evans and Chris Sherwin speak to Tammy Gooding.
