Tinubu takes Nigeria election victory
Bola Ahmed Tinubu has been declared the victor in Nigeria's presidential election.
APC's Bola Ahmed Tinubu has been declared the victor in Nigeria's presidential elections. Official results show the 70-year-old got 37% of the vote. His main rival Atiku Abubakar polled 29%, and Labour's Peter Obi 25%.
The French president, Emmanuel Macron, is heading off on a tour of Central Africa with a visit to Gabon, as France reshapes its strategy on the continent.
And MPs from the DR Congo's North Kivu province want President Felix Tshisekedi to consider engaging the M23 group directly in talks.
