Sudan conflict continues amid peace talks
Clashes are continuing in Khartoum between the Sudanese army and the RSF.
Fierce clashes are continuing in Khartoum between the Sudanese army and the rival Rapid Support Forces, despite ongoing peace talks mediated by the US and Saudi Arabia. The fighting in Sudan has destroyed medical facilities and forced doctors and health care workers to flee.
A group of African leaders, led by South Africa's president Cyril Ramaphosa are trying to broker peace in the war in Ukraine. Russian President, Vladimir Putin and Ukrainian President, Volodymyr Zelensky have agreed to receive the heads of state in Moscow and Kyiv.
Human rights groups have alleged Egyptian authorities are arbitrarily detaining women and girls related to suspected members of the Islamic State affiliate in North Sinai.
And gunmen have killed at least four people, including two staff from the US Embassy in Nigeria鈥檚 southeastern Anambra state.
