Brad Mehldau
Friday 11 March 2005 23:30-1:00 (Radio 3)
Jez Nelson presents an exclusive concert performance from the phenomenal New York-based pianist Brad Mehldau, recorded at last year's London Jazz Festival.
Widely thought of as the most talented pianist of his generation, Meldau's classical sensibilities are complemented by the venue, the Wigmore Hall in London, home of classical chamber music. Famous for his trio work, this concert is a rare chance to hear Mehldau play solo, as he performs both contemporary and traditional compositions.
Jez will also be talking to the leading French bass player Henri Texier about his new album (V)ivre and his forthcoming UK tour.
