"I paint surrealist/floral images, working continuously over Ìýseveral hours, since the flowers age and change so quickly. I become so focussed on my work that I do not stop for anything, be it doorbell, phone ringing or cat Ìýinterruption! Radio is the only soundtrack for me. I listen to the news, which keeps me in touch with the outside Ìýworld, and acts as my watch, marking the passing of time; Ìýand also classical music, which creates the reflective Ìýmood I need for utter absorption in the task. Radio Ìýenriches my painting experience and I would not be without it."
