Ìý"I work as an artist and listen to RadioÌý4 while I am painting (and while I am being distracted from painting by piles of ironing etc). However, by the time the Afternoon Play starts I am usually beyond distraction and totally involved in my work. The radio provides a rhythm and texture which gets woven into whatever I am working on, to the extent that certain marks or areas of the painting Ìýcan conjure up particular scenes, even weeks later, adding a strange personal synaesthetic dimension to it."
