"I am passionate about RadioÌý4. I switch on the minute I Ìýwake up. I have been a practising artist on The Isle of ÌýSkye for twelve years, I adore this wild mad landscape and Ìýthe weather that affects it. So much time is spent alone in the studio wrestling with the images that can appear to direct me, and the dialogue grows until we are mutually resolved. More tools in the bag now for the next image, always looking for that 'bit of magic' that turns a competent painting into a fascinating one. My paintings always offer a point of infinity, a place to go through this amazing wilderness. RadioÌý4 is my companion, but frustration can be intense when the winter gales and driving rain drown out the radio sounds. This can be at a point when a question is being responded to on Gardeners ÌýQuestion Time or even worse during The Archers. When Ìýmy mother visits she will always say 'Why do you have the radio on all over the house and studio? You can't be Ìýlistening to them all.' I respond, 'I just couldn't bear to miss anything!'"
