Despite the progress that has been made since 1989, when the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child came into being, children's rights continue to be neglected in many areas, as these reports show.
This special broadcasting initiative aims to promote a worldwide debate on children's rights inline with the United Nations Special Session on Children, which was postponed following the 11th September attack on New York.
Rescheduled to take place between 8-10 May 2002, the Session is a meeting of the UN General Assembly dedicated to the children and adolescents of the world.
