"In painting classical subjects, using techniques from hundreds of years ago, music from the radio plays an essential part in creating the mood and atmosphere of the times in which these pictures were painted. I leave gaps in the compositions for particular pieces of music to appear via Classic FM as the painting progresses, not knowing when a passage of music will appear gives an exciting and spontaneous flow to the act of painting,inspiration via the music reaching the brush."
