"As for the radio, I listen to it nearly all the time when I'm working, usually Five Live and the Bob Harris Show. One evening, Bob Harris asked his listeners if anyone out there Ìýwas doing anything creatively unusual whilst listening to his Ìýshow... On the spur of the moment I phoned in, and to my surprise Bob answered the phone. I told him I was illustrating a painting for the cover of an Arthur C Clarke novel, explained how I worked, got my ideas etc. I then Ìýsent him some samples and consequently heard from many old friends I'd not spoken to in years..."
