"I like to paint in the open air and I particularly like the winter colours. The subject in this case was the Cuckmere ÌýValley - Frogs Firle, in January with ice on the water. While painting I am plugged into Radio 4, of which I am a devotee. To be able to do this required buying a special Ìýpocket radio that could receive Long Wave as well as FM Ìýso that I would have no problems getting reception, in even the remotest locations (and I like Test Match Special)."
