"There was always a radio playing Radio 4 in at least one room at home throughout my childhood. As an only child I spent most of my time drawing and painting, and I often tried to capture how the faces that produced the familiar Radio 4 voices might have looked. These faces filled many of my first sketchbooks and now seem a motley yet friendly crew! As an artist, I have continued to use the human face as inspiration, and have kept Radio 4 voices as my essential studio companions."
