"I work as a freelance illustrator. I get woken by Radio 4 in the morning and fall asleep to World Service when 4 goes off air at night.
I work alone so the radio becomes a a passive companion as I work.
I find there is a direct link between the imaginary vision generated by radio plays and the act of creating images. The black and white illustrations that used to feature regularly in the Radio Times years ago have also been an inspiration in my career."
